How Can I Help?

The West Milford Soccer Club is a Non-Profit Organization. We always need volunteers to help in many different ways. Here are many ways that you can help :

Coaching - Sometimes, you may not need to know a ton about the sport to start a team. Organization skills and being able to keep everyone focused during practices & games is the key. Trainers can be hired by individual teams to assist with skill development, but without the main organizational coach, the team can't happen. All Coaches are required to take the NJSYA State Certification Course. So some skills and best practices can be taught there, but the key is to use the resources available through the club, through other parents and other coaches. Everyone pitching in to help, with get more kids on the field playing, and overall, that is the goal.

Field Volunteers - We occasionally need volunteers to help with the pre-season and post-season setup and take down of various components of the field. Goal Nets, Flags, and general field maintenance will be looked at in the future. Stay tuned or contact the board for information how your individual skills can be utilized.

Donations and Service Providers - Landscapers, Business Owners, Contractors, this goes out to you. Sometimes the easiest way to help is by giving. Money, yes, but Services and goods, are just as valuable. Field Seeding , aerating, and patching is always needed throughout the season, and post season. There are several planned programs that will help to get our fields up to a better standard. With the help of the town, we have partnered to work on the field upkeep and improvement of the fields. In addition, Raffle Prizes, giveaways, and event merchandise, such as T-shirts, Hats, Balls and equipment is always in need.

Fundraising - Ideas and planning goes a long way. Directly in conjunction with the Donations we receive, planning help and creativity is always needed to create meaningful fundraisers. the days of "selling" in order to fundraise are gone, and in order to sustain a successful program, registration fees are just not enough. Better Uniforms, Better Equipment, and overall better experiences cost money. In order to keep the registration costs down, the Club needs to supplement in different areas in order to accommodate the yearly budget expenditures. You are critical in making sure we can fundraise effectively, without passing the expense directly back to the parents.
